Before Thailand in the present days, we were one part of the land called "Suwannaphum" meaning Land of Gold. There were legends, religion accounts, and the first great economy. 

It became prosperous through maritime trade and agriculture, especially rice.

According to history journal, there is evidence that "Suwannaphum" is where the rice was first cultivated in the world. Wisdoms, techniques and cultures of rice were passed on to Thai people from generation to generation and were developed for more than 1,000 years which makes Thai rice so unique and is one of the most favorite rice on earth till today.
